Emotional support and social opportunities

Parent Mentor Program

Volunteers that have a child in a similar situation, provide one-on-one connection and can give advice and recommendations.

Family Support Partners

Staff that can provide more intense one-to-one support to families, and can help families access other community services.

NICU Support

In collaboration with Bronson Hospital, a mentor parent is available to provide support in the NICU to families with premature babies or other complications occurring at birth.

Support groups

Variety of groups to meet specific needs of families.  We can also provide connections to local groups.

Social opportunities

Family fun social events, in the community or sponsored by Parent to Parent, where parents and children can experience a judgement-free outing.  Events happen throughout the year.

A safe place where parents can come together to learn about supporting their child, share stories, and learn from each other's experiences.Community Involvement

All Kids Can! Recreation Expo

One stop shop for summer activities for kids of all abilities.  Fun activities for the kids, info for parents and lunch provided.   

Information sharing

We welcome questions and provide presentations for professionals about the joys and challenges of parenting a child with special needs, disability awareness, traveling sensory classroom, inclusion in programming, school inclusion, disability specific presentations.

P2P collaborates with many organizations and professionals in order to meet the needs of clients.  We receive referrals from doctors, hospitals, social workers, psychologists, therapists, educators, child care providers and more.

Located in the office, for parents to access literature about their child's specific needs.

Staff are willing to help parents find and link to information and services

Social media

Facebook page and email lists inform parents about educational lectures, workshops, trainings, events, and jobs in the community.
